Questions About Continuing Education for Pharmacy Technicians
If I have more than 6 credit hours at the end of the renewal period, can I carry over the excess into the next year?
No, you cannot carry over CE hours into a new renewal period. When a new license period starts, your CE hours start over at zero.
Do the Pharmacy Tech CE requirements apply to newly licensed Pharmacy Technicians?
The CE requirements do not apply to pharmacy technicians renewing their licenses for the first time. If you have been licensed for one full calendar year, you are required to complete 3 hours of continuing education for your first renewal. However, if you have been licensed for less than a full calendar year, no continuing education is required for your first renewal.
Are the Alabama Board of Pharmacy’s CE requirements the same as the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s (PTCB) Requirements?
The Alabama Board of Pharmacy’s CE requirements are separate from any PTCB requirements. To keep your PTCB pharmacy technician certification, check their requirements.
